The Orbis School – Kindergarten is located together with the primary school in a common building on nám. T.G. Masaryka 1279 . This makes it logistically convenient for parents who have children of various ages.
„Based on the latest linguistic and psychological research, a child at this age is actually programmed to learn speech. It is an absolutely ideal time to learn any speech at all, at a later age (between the 8th and 12th year of the child’s age) the development of speech centers in the brain is already closing! We believe that language teaching must be based primarily on natural language acquisition. After all, children are able to understand the meaning of a message very soon and then start communicating in a given language. The choice of teaching method is very important , it must be as motivating as possible,“ says Marek Kadlec, director of Wattsenglish ČR and a member of the OMEP ( Organization Mondiale pour l´Éducation Préscolaire).
We are based on the methodology of teaching English in kindergarten, published by the Research Institute of Pedagogy in Prague. It is based on principles of children having the capabilities of learning various ways and not only one form of teaching. The basic educational programme is supplemented by teaching English in kindergarten with native-speaking staff from abroad which will help serve as an easy transition for young students entering into the Primary School.
Kindergarten can be attended by children from two to six years and operation is from 7.00 to 17.00. Children have access to an outdoor sports ground and playground. Completion of pre-school education at the Orbis School – Kindergarten with English teaching is an advantage, but not a condition for starting compulsory schooling at the Orbis School.
